Our Shameless Attempt at Landing U2 as a Guest
When Jon and Pete first started the Break It Down Show, Pete noted his "Dream Guest" was U2. If you follow the show, it doesn't take long to realize that Pete is going to mention the band in each episode. "Ya, I'm guilty of that. I purposefully try to avoid doing it too much. I try to limit it to once a show if at all possible; but I am guilty though. I can't help it, I love those guys."
In an effort to land the band as a guest; Pete convinced Jon to do a series of shows to act as "Love Letters," to the band. The hope being, the gents will appreciate the gesture and do what they always have done, connect. "Jon and I are always wanting to create more content. The idea behind these quick shows is to reveal more about us, but also talk to the guests that we dream about getting. With all the negative stuff that happens on Facebook and Twitter, Jon and I want to be a voice of kindness, admiration and love. I think U2 and future guests likes Quincy Jones, Nile Rogers Harry Connick Jr can appreciate that...and will support it." Pete further justifies his play, "So, I was at a U2 concert at the Oakland Coliseum a long time ago. During the show, Bono extended to all of us at the show an invitation to come visit while in Ireland. I haven't cashed in that invite yet, so I figure, they might just settle up by dropping in with us. Look, I've been shot at and blowed up, seriously, what's the worse that can happen?" Indeed, what is the worse thing? With that said, enjoy these short shows, share them, re-tweet send an email to the artist. This show is yours as much as its Jon and Pete's.
