3-Finger Andy - Today's guest is the incredible Andy Summers. Andy's status as a legend was certified when he, Stewart Copeland and Sting formed the Police.
The success of the Police, ultimately enabled/forced Andy to find new things to explore as an artist. In particular photography...as he evolved past emulation, he discovered his own area for creation. Merging media now defines Andy as an artist. Music, improvisation, photography, spoken word and anything else that fits, that's how Andy pursues art.

Hey guys,

Just stumbled into ‘breakdown territory’ via a Sting tweet link. Loved the interview with the ever questing/ tasteful and talented guitar player Andy Summers. What a privilege for Andy to be living large like he is. I’m sure it hasn’t all been beer and skittles. Really liked the vibe, the duration and the detail. Also just listened to the two part Jeff Campitelli interview. What a nice dude. What a great player, what a good person. Time for me to go back into my Satrianni BluRays.

Guest suggestions? Tommy Emmanuel when he flies thru. Steven Wilson (currently in the midst of a world tour).

Hello Gary! We appreciate your thoughtful compliments, and your guest suggestions. Jeff Campitelli has become a friend since appearing on the show, and my life is so enriched by his input. You are absolutely right about how great of a guy he is, and he plays out in a great little outdoor bar in our neighborhood that you would love. I'll post a picture this weekend (he's playing this Saturday with Angeline Saris - look her up if you're not familiar with her - and a few other splendid cats). Looks like Steven Wilson will be in California in early May, and I will reach out to him about joining us.

Tommy Emmanuel is a dream guest of mine, and I will certainly pursue him for an episode, but he seems to be skipping California this year. I did just get a commitment from Louis Shelton to come on, and while he's American, he now lives in Australia. I'll bet he's going to deliver a show you and I are both going to enjoy. And we have Mark Schulman coming up, which I am bananas excited about.
