BMX Racing or Acting, Letting It Rip - Today's guest is BMX professional racer turned pro actor, Matt Pohlkamp. Matt doesn't race full-time these days, but his approach to working out caught Pete Koch's discerning eye.
Pete approached Matt to figure out who he was and what he does for a living. Turns out, Matt and Pete's athletic journey's blend well. Matt used acting as a means from decompressing from BMX racing. Over the years as Matt has developed into a sought after actor, he started using BMX as a means of escaping the grind of acting. Pete A Turner and Pete Koch, #thepetes sat down with Matt at Q's Billiards on Wilshire and got into Matt and how he gets it done. #lifetime #lifetimemovie Episode Haiku Haiku BMX Actor Charging as hard as he can Looking for the flow Similar episodes: Chad Michael Collins Eric Bergoust Jonny Moseley |

Hey, this is john Leon Guerrero. Our guest today is Matt Pohlkamp. He's an actor who's appeared in a ton of short films, and has recently made his way into TV, movies and features. He's a mostly retired professional BMX rider, but he still gets on the bike and uses his time in the saddle much more deliberately now than ever to inform his craft as an actor. Not so filled with youthful exuberance as he wants was, he's more conscious of pace and flow, and he breaks down for us how this clarity translates to his artistic delivery.
