Pete & Jon nail it again. Congrats you two! I'm a forever listener...-Daughter of Mic
It's no secret that we think the whole universe of you, Megan, but it always bears repeating. Anyone who was a fan of your Pop can hear you sing for a second and know that your individuality, sensitivity, and strength must have been nurtured in a unique place. If you're a forever listener, we'll keep reaching deeper. And we're forever listeners of you too.
Just ran across this website. And had to stop in my tracks. Sly Stone is one of the all time greats! Grew up on his music...my the Lord continue to bless him!!!
Thank you, Larry. As you surely heard, we love him too. Thanks for listening, I'm glad you happened upon us. If you get a chance and are so inclined, listen to our other music episodes too, and we'll keep them coming.
Bo Diddly's Band.
Many dont know that Sly was a heavy
" doo wopper" as well and first intergrated group was doo wop at...if i'm not mistaken...at SF State.
Samuel, Sly talks about purposefully integrating his band in the episode. We love Sly for that...heck, we love him in general.
My first Sly concert was 1968 at the kool Jazz Festival on the football field at Hampton Institute in Hampton, VA. The family took me so high, it took me about three days to come down. His music is definitely a part of history. Timeless!!!
I was at that concert!........that was an AMAZING 3 day festival. It was my first Sly concert also.........and I'll never forget it!
