The story of the USS Indianapolis is unbelievable. The ship that dropped off the atomic bomb in WWII was sunk a few days later without anyone knowing it was gone. 4 days and 5 nights the remaining 320 men from nearly 1000 on board were rescued from the Pacific. Even as the rescue was taking place Indianapolis' crew members were dying. 316 men survived the ordeal. Lynn and Sara's book gets into detail like no previous book. #heroes #greatestgeneration #podcast Similar episodes: Robert Vera Jim DeFelice Daniel P. Bolger |
