Roland 808 - NAMM's TEC Hall of Fame Inductee for 2020 - 1000's of things have been created to help musicians create music. The folks at NAMM recognize the more important, musicians AND equipment, in the TEC Awards Hall of Fame.
In 1980, Roland released the TR 808, or just the 808...and it remains among the most influential inventions ever-not just in music. It's compulsory for any serious producer still, 40 years after its release. Its presence in the market place is on par with the pipe-organ, 88-key piano and the electric guitar. Pete A Turner and Jon Leon Guerrero host a collection of producers who discuss the 808's role in music. These |
producers have worked with acts like U2, Christina Aguilera and Madonna--so they know music.
Please welcome, Jamie Hartman, GRAMMY winner Dave Aude, Mike Cee, 12x Juno winning Gavin Brown
Pay special attention to Don Lewis, and Egyptian Lover. Their role in the establishment of the 808 is unique and we're so very proud to feature their story in this episode.
Look for more from all of these guests at Break It Down Show.com Awards Hall of Fame.
Finally, a hat tip to our buddy Wes Maebe who helped inspire the concept behind this episode.
