From the NFL to the Opera, Tonga’s Leading Tenor - Today's guest on the Break It Down Show is, Ta'u Pupu'a. Ta'u was an NFL lineman drafted by the Browns, later the Ravens. An injury led to Ta'u taking a leap from the NFL to New York--to become an opera singer.
It gets crazier, Ta'u didn't know anyone, nor did he have any realistic expectation of becoming an opera singer. He took the professional working skills he developed as a football player and applied them to his new career. He crushed his audition at Juilliard and got a full-ride.
